It's a process....but it's progress.

Hope you all had a great weekend. It's the weekend! Yay! It's honestly been a brutal week on my end. So much I wanted to get done but didn't. We had a pipe burst! Oh the fun! Had a check and other important bills lost in the mail. Hmm,what else. Oh also went to file taxes and couldn't that got delayed due to my drivers license being expired and they had to have the actual plastic card so that won't happen for a couple weeks. It's been a week of ups and downs mainly downs if I'm being totally honest. Please next week be kind to me...please. Anyhow I did want to show you the progress up until this point. Not sure what I want to do when it's done sell it hang on to it for camping, or turn it into a sewing studio and office. Who knows. Life's a journey, not a destination right? Only time will tell.

Here is the progress so far...

My vintage chair I love that I got for $5 at a church rummage sale. My six your old made the red pillow.

My little office set up
I did the flooring myself. I should have took a before pic, but honestly it was awful, some of it was tile, the other part was carpet that was just gross... take my word for it.

This flooring was so easy to install and @ only .69 a tile, an amazing value and turned out beautiful.

More updates to come. I'm going to be painting the walls antique white doing the counter top, back splash, de-doing the bedroom area with chevron print bedding and head board. Lot's to be done to get it where I want it. Also trying to sell two cars. I want to get an SUV. Just need something bigger than my tiny little Chevy Malibu Maxx.

Tiny house plans, life update

So this is where we are at along our journey. So far we have painted almost everything. I'm pretty impressed with the price of this paint. $5 for one gallon. For those of you that don't know. Go with the oops paint. It's the paint that someone had mixed and then changed their mind. For me I really didn't care so much about the color because I was just using it as a base. More like a primer just to get things covered, cover the ugly wood paneling look and then prepare for a beautiful antique white. This is what it looks like so far, this is the front area. I just did the flooring yesterday, although not done with living area. This is a little sewing, office area which serves it's purpose and is very functional. So far it's working well.

This is the step ( need to install the trim for the edge). This is the bathroom area. Bath tub off to the left. and sink off to the right. More pics to come when I'm done with bathroom
So total spent on paint and flooring and accessories. Around $85. Not too bad.  It's going to take another 2 boxes of flooring @ $23 each ab ox which isn't bad ,from Lowe's These are the peel and stick tiles, which are super easy to install you just have to lay them down to see where you want them then stick, use a box cutter to trim excess and voila! New Floor!
My son at his Dr, Suess event @ school this last week

Me at a black tie event event the prior week. We've had a long couple of weeks. Actually Feb just flew by. Thank god honestly. I'm so over rain and looking forward to brighter days, in more ways than one. :)

First pics of our new journey

Here are some pics of the RV when we first got it....and progress so far.

More to come. Any ideas for decor, colors, etc. Leave me a comment below!

Not sure if I'm going to leave it this gray color. This was an oops color that I figured I could use for the base. Thinking I'm  going to go with a Chevron print for cabinets.

It's very rainy today in my neck of the woods, in Nor Cal. 🙂

Welcome to Tiny House Mom! I'm a mom embarking on a new journey! Sometimes no matter how much we plan and prepare life has other things in store for us. My story and my blog will embrace the changes, and new challenges that myself and my two boys will be going through in our journey to find peace, simplicity and happiness after divorce.

Nearly three years ago I told my husband of 16 years that I was calling it quits. His reaction didn't surprise me, he didn't take the news well, but what he decided to do in the three years since has been not only shocking but it forced my to rethink a lot of things about life, family and finances. I will be forever changed. I will get more depth about my story and what lead us to the point where we are now when I have more time, but here's where we are now and what we are doing as well as what's to come.

About 3 months ago my income was cut in half and I had to make some big changes. What I did as a result might be shocking....I got rid of half of our stuff and we downsized from an 1100 square ft townhouse apartment to a 300 square foot RV! Crazy right? Well this is saving me $1000 a month! YES $1000! This kind of drastic change might not be for everyone, but for us it works. We got the RV cheap for $1300, it's a 1986 Hitchhiker Fifth wheel. We will be renovating the entire inside and I will some you pics of the before and after as well as progress along the way.

We will also be making plans to build a 400 square ft tiny house in the months to come that we will eventually be moving in to. I should be able to do the entire project for around $6000-$10,000 and we will be living a mortgage free life, which frees up our resources and time to enjoy things we love like traveling, exploring and having fun! I will also be sharing with you how we are going to do this tiny house build for a very tiny price!

Come follow our journey!
